The Tuatara (Warning: a raunchy post for sweet Em!)

Please enjoy this site about a 111 year old lizard in New Zealand who finally found lizard love! (The photo is precious.)
There's always hope!
(By the way, I LOVE being single. Most people don't understand that. I have such a wealth of relationships and so many ways that I can be creative and connected, and I also have my own little world and lots of choices. I know that someday my life may be different, and I accept that, because change is part of life. But I'm not rushing change. This lizard was 111! And never mind that human life spans are different than tuatara life spans... I put so much joy and love and energy into each and every day, that when my end is in sight, some day that is hopefully very far off, I will know that I've taken so much out of life, and hopefully given a bit too!)
Anyway, enjoy this link, shared with humor and celebration.

Thanks for posting that! The lizards are so cute, and it's wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, as a single person in a world full of couples, to hear another single person say, 'hey, there's more than one way to have a good life!' Yeah!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're appreciating your good life, too, Miss Becks.
ReplyDeleteRemember the visit up in Vermont when we sat on the floor and made music with guitars and recorders and our own singing, right after college, with Rebecca too? There's so much to love in this life.
I still remember that trip so so so so fondly! 'Specially when we were all jammin' together! That's one of those nice gifts you just carry with you for the rest o' your life.
ReplyDeleteI love that idea, Becky! --an experience--any experience-- is a gift you give yourself. Wow. Doesn't that just make you want to go and live life, and see friends and celebrate everything?
ReplyDeleteFor the 15th reunion, let's find a beautiful place and meet again...
By the way, I'm going to be in San Francisco and San Diego for a kind of hectic week this summer...are you near either of those places?
