My Project 2026
My Project 2026
Celebrate all people for the good they offer, the love they share, the hope of their existence.
Encourage creativity, curiousity, generosity, bravery, adventure, diplomacy, and devotion.
Pause to cherish the sun, moon, stars, wind, oceans, rivers, grass, pastures, mountains, jungles, forests, trees, twigs, nests, homes here on Planet Earth.
Experience awe. Know there is so much out there that is beyond our ability to understand. Accept that we are simultaneously bigger and smaller than any soul can imagine.
Respect animals. Listen for the spring peepers, the dancing crickets, the howling coyotes, the purring cats. Know there is so much to life on this planet than the human experience alone. Ponder the mycelium connecting trees in the forest, and the strength a tulip possesses enabling such a hefty flower to hold its head up high on even the thinnest of stalks.
Speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves. Welcome the stranger. Lift up the poor. Feed the hungry. Heal the sick. Comfort those you cannot heal. And be kind to yourself.
Teach one another wisely. Acknowledge our independence. Call your legislators. Call them again. And again. We are a land of people who came here out of need. We were not the first and we should not be the last.
Learn from those who have come before. We have so many heroes— named and unnamed. It has been said that we walk on the shoulders of giants; learn about the footsteps they once trod. While you’re at it, sing all the verses of Good King Wenceslas.
Let your faith remind you to be kind and inclusive. Do not confuse a political movement with theology, or a religious order with faith. Remember that languages have ways of connecting people, but also of creating barriers. Aim to feel the essence. Aim to do good.
Forgive and forge new ways to move forward. We are living in hurting times and it will take generations to heal from the harm of the past year or decade. Offer a helping hand where you can— time, talent, or treasure…. Or a mix of all three!— but do so out of hope. It is rage that got us into this mess. Let love be what helps us emerge.
